Are you looking for a highly skilled worker to help with pest control? You could not do any better than a working cat. Not only are they highly effective at rodent control; they are eco-friendly. You might call them Mother Nature’s ‘purrfect’ solution for pest control.
Just who are these highly trained felines ready to hit the ground running on your property or at your business to help with rodent control? Working cats are not particularly well socialized. While some working cats are friendly, many are not entirely comfortable with human interaction, although they can be happy living near people.
Working cats are far more content in residential areas, warehouses, barns, factories, police/fire stations, plant nurseries, breweries, artist studios, offices, churches, and any other properties suited for independent-minded cats. Since life as traditional indoor pets is not for them, they are not distracted when it comes to getting the job done.
Daily needs
They may not want to live indoors, but still working cats need regular care after a proper acclimation period to the “job site.” They need daily food and water, a place to sleep, and a place to keep them safe from extreme heat or cold. If one of them becomes sick, they will need veterinarian care, which might mean trapping them humanely for a vet visit. Our website features more information about acclimating and caring for working cats on our home page under Resources: Barn Cat Instructions
